Allis sp 100

Early SP would have a WD, some later might have the WD45...Early SP100 had the flat steering wheel, Super came with the WD45 engine, angled steering wheel, and I think a slightly better, but not all that good, hyd system. Still very primitive by today"s standards, but back in the mid-late 50s....

Only the first 2-3 months of production of the AC SP 100 had the 201 CI WD engine...Just as soon as the WD-45 tractor came out the SP-100's all got the 226 CI engine....

The SP 100 was built from 1953-57 and the Super 100 in 1957-58..

first 2 yrs. of production of the sp 100 was the wd engine. then you could get either the wd or the wd45 engine and the super 100's had only the wd45 engine. my source is norm swinford.

That is not what it says in Norm's "Allis Chalmers Farm Equipment 1914-1985" on page 346 Bottom Right column, First paragraph, Sentence 1 & 2.

Quote: "The early SP100's were powered by the West Allis four-cylinder 201-cubic inch engine best known in the WD tractor. When the WD45 tractor came out a few months later, the new four-cylinder 226 cubic-inch Power-Crater quickly found its way into the SP100."
