Gleaner F2 with A 438 Corn head

Brought the combine home last year, grease and fuel is all we had to touch, it picked corn without missing one ear of corn. Cleaned and parked till now, went thru same steps as last year the only thing is the corn is being pulled down thru the racker chains and not being pulled off the stalk. Some ears are being jerked off but most of them fall through the openning and get crushed and fall out bottom of head before reaching the combine. Please help?

Stripper bars are set too wide for your ear size, narrow them up, making certain the space between them in the rear is slightly wider than the front.

Thanks You Sir.

Does anybody have a diagram of the head, or were is the best place to buy a manual?

You can gt a bit of a parts diagram by going to the parts look up at Agco web site.

Manuals can be had at your dealer, ebay, Jensales, perhaps this web site's manuals section, and all the usual manual places.

Got small ears this year, eh?
