Nice pictures. Something that always has amazed me is that it looks like that land doesn't suffer from soil erosion. Is that true?

nice land and a nice sidehill to go with it. Thanks for the pictures.

Are you near the Palouse region? just curious since I've seen some interesting farming videos from the 30's-60's shot in the Palouse region.

Nice pics.

What is the maximum slope that thing will level on? Looks like your on about 20% slopes there.

I always love combines in action but somtimes moutains and hills in the background let us know who's in charge. LOL Nice pics Blaine!

Thanks for the great pictures. Wheat harvest there
looks a bit different than here in Kansas!

I check out a number of the different forums here
regularly but when it comes to neat pictures, this
forum has the best in my opinion.

On September 24 of this year, we drove from Coulee Dam to Spokane area, traveling on U.S. 2 from Wilbur on east. As bad as I wanted to see what I have imagined (for 55 or more years), I didn't see any of the hills and sidehill combines that you show.

We did see a lot of wheat, and that was neat to see for this old Indiana flatlander. Our wheat crop back in the day was limited to 15 acres, as that was all we could raise and sell on the open market at harvest time (our legal allotment to get price supports, which Dad didn't believe in). was 3 or 4 acres (as I remember with my muddled mind). We had an Allis-Chalmers
60" All-Crop combine and it took a couple of says to combine wheat.

Next time I'm out that way, please tell me where to go (no pun intended) and when to go there.

Thanks,

Hey All, Thanks for the great comments.

Going to try to answer the questions .If I miss one let me know.

In regards to level percent. I think it will handle 40.

Soil erosion is low ,but we do loss some down the water ways.

I think the average on yeild was between 70-80 bushels per acre.

Harvest time is around the last 2 weeks in August thru first 2 weeks of September.

It's great to see the harvesters in action.Anyone that needs info. or would like to take a look .When these machines are in action.Maybe we can work something out.Take Care All.BlaineF(WA)
