I just recently purchased an International 615 combine to harvest Barley. Its like new! I would also like to harvest Dried Beans. Has anyone had any experiance with using this type of combine to harvest dried beans??

Thank You

there were alot of 715 used in dry bean country where i live. not many 615. but since i think they are generally a smaller version of the 715 do not know why they would not work. (although 815 &915 were not good bean machines) Gennerally a spike cylinder is preffered for dry beans but a rasp will work. beans are fragile and slow cylinder speeds with open concaves are usually needed. fan can be run wide open. if beans are real dry u should not unload at full throttle as the unloading auger will also split them. some machines were retrofitted with spring teeth concaves. they were easier on beans and were nice in windrowed crop that contained rocks. are u direct cutting or windrowing the beans? hope this helps

I don't think the 615 can use a flex head . . . but you'd at least want a floating cutterbar attachment on the grain header. If beans are viny, lifters would also be good. Hiniker, Love, and Hart-Carter all made floating cutterbars. Love probably has best parts support because they still make them (believe it or not).

I can;t help you on your question but maybe you could help me with mine. I have a chance to buy a 615 internatonal combine with both heads and I would like to know what you bought yours for to get a better Idea on how much it is worth. Thanks
