760 Grain Pan

Has anyone ever changed the grain pan in a 760 Massey? I have access to a service book (just not at the moment).. Just wondered what it entails. I hear it's a REALLLLLLY FUN job.. A friend of mine would like me to do one for him.. The payment for the job seems good, just not sure if I really want to do it without knowing what I'm getting into

Remove the handful of bolts at the front of the grain pan. Find a 2'X4", large hammer and start beating towards the front of the machine.

been told you can get the front pans out without removing the feeder house and isn't real bad to do whereas on a 510/550 you have to remove the feeder house, rock trap ect.

Well.. I'm not sure if I'm doing the front, rear, or what exactly. All I know is he bought this machine that needs a grain pan, and bought a good used one, but no one will do it, or if they will, $90/hour seems to be the going rate (and I can work ALOT cheaper and make myself money)

I guess that was what I was wondering, if the throat had to come out and that. As I said, I have access to a service book.. Just have to meet up with another friend and steal it from him a few days.

Thanks for the info.. Guess I know what I'm doing once crops are all in
