23.1x26 tires on JD rims

Anyone know if these would fit a NH 1400 combine? Can't tell you what model JD they're off of- auction bill just says they're from a JD combine. My 1400's tires have good tread, but deep cracks in the sidewalls. (original Goodyears from 1977) Would the pilot and lug holes be a standard pattern, or did each mfg'er have their own dimentions? Thanks.

I have found that the rims off a IH 403 fit CASE combines as well as tractors the 8-hole wheel also went on a WD45 AC tractor as well never tried a NH but am assuming it will good luck Tom

Hey Fordfarmer,Measure your center pilot and distance between two studs and I will measure two 6600 J.D. wheels that I bought just to get the tires off of.They had 23.1x26 tires on them and the best I rember they are 8 lug.You better buy them if they are cheap cause a new tire(Goodyear) 8 ply will cost you about $800 each now.My local recycle yard buddy is saving and giving me every 23.1x26 tire he gets in.He says I am doing him a favor getting rid of the tires so he doesn,t have them laying all over the recycle yard.

That size was usad on some 95 and 105s.The rims were not interchangable.95s used a steel disk and 8 lug bolts.105s used a centrless wheel/rim clamped to a cast hub/'wheel'similar to a large farm tractor

You've got a good friend at that recycling yard! I paid $150 each at Worthington Ag Parts for a couple of well-worn tires last fall, (and was quoted $900 for new) so I'd have them on hand, just in case. Local tire dealer doesn't stock this size, new or used. Would like to have a set (or even one) on a rim and ready.
Kinda hard to measure the pilot hole, with that hub sticking in there, but seems to be about 8 1/2", with adjacent lugs 4 1/4" apart (or 10 3/4" lug to lug across the center) and 3/4" diameter lugs.

Fordfarmer, I was always under the impression that the bolt pattern for the TR combines was the same as the 6600/7700 Deere combines. In fact, I was also told that NH used a Deere final drive in their TR combines. This is only hearsay on my part. If the bolt pattern on your combine is the same as a TR the wheels should bolt right on. Mike

Thanks for the info, guys. The way things went, I couldn't go to the sale anyway. It was today, and I ended up taking Luke to the hospital for x-rays, then running errands. Would be good to know for next time though.

Hey Fordfarmer, everything looks the same except my center measures 8 11/16.Your center would probably measure that if the hub was out so you could go straight accross.I forgot to measure stud diameter.Hope this helps.
