Farmer and others, thanks for asking about me.I'm still around but the combine collecting is pretty much done as I just cant afford to build more storage. My wifes health, the economy, and a few other things that happened have caused me to lose interest.I still come here and lurk some but have very little desire to post anywhere these days. For some reason I can only get on here in modern view and I had trouble getting the pictures to come up.

A new cheaper hobby is taking pictures of all the small towns in Kansas and MO.In some towns so many of the old buildings have fallen down or been torn down in the past 20 years, that they are barely recognizable now.In the past 2 years I have taken over 3000 pictures in 100's of small towns.

Heres the old Harvey House Hotel built in 1871 at Schell City,MO.Sadly, they are just letting this 138 year old historic building fall down!

The old IOOF building in Arcadia,KS that will soon be a goner.75% of the old business buildings there are already gone including the IH dealer.

I did find a running 1949 21-A Massey 20 miles south of Enid,OK and hauled it home this weekend. It last cut wheat 13 years and was put in the shed but he got it running again. Its had 3 owners and was shedded for most of its life but has surface rust. Its still a solid old combine and its the only thing that I've bought in 2009.I'm going to have to put a $8,000 tractor outside to shed this combine.

The first picture is the owner Eddie M driving it out of the shed Friday afternoon so we could load it.The other two pictures were taken in my yard this afternoon.Thats a Wisconsin V-4 engine on the trailer that I loaded at the Winfield,KS tractor show Sat afternoon.

Heres proof that I was at Winfield,KS on Sat.The bottom two pictures are part of combine row from Rogers picture.Sorry that I didnt get to see you Roger. We spent the night at Medford,OK and was at the Winfield show from 9 AM to 2 PM. I'll haul a combine down for the 2011 Winfield show since it features combines..I'm retiring in June 2011.

Glad to hear you are still with us! I think a lot of us have had to rethink this hobby in the recent times. That looks like a nice 21A, and is that a MM combine with a mud hog axle in it? I put up 2 lean to's on existing sheds as they are a ton cheaper than another shed and you'd be amazed what would fit in a 10' ceiling! You could always thin the heard out a little and get rid of the combines you have a couple of, I'm sure with the economy the way it is people are going to be going back to the older machines.

Nice to hear you are ok drop me an email sometime got a couple questions on the pictures you had of another 570 Moline looking for items for mine

blaine, i'm glad you posted. i;ve been wondering how you were too.
the rust on the combine is minor compared to how solid it is. good find!

Hey 1206 nice to hear your still around! I think we all are treading water lately. I haven't been on here posting a whole lot . But i do sneak on here and keep an eye on stuff..
I hope you have a little help hauling those combines. At least fuel isn't 5 bucks a gallon like you paid on some of those trips.
Breaks are good for everybody, kind of gets your perspective adjusted once in a while.
Your a wealth of information on here. I see alot of new faces on here too.
Thanks for the pics, very enjoyable. I gotta get to posting a few myself.

Take care

Farmer

Good To hear from You 1206 Thats a Nice Haul ,........,forgive Me for going there , ...But, I think I feel and can relate somewhat to Your Pain ,,remember the movie "its a wonderful Life " ?,, sometimes I wonder who was not allowed to live and make the difference so the Greater Good would be Accomplished ...or "Gran Torino" might jiggle a nerve.., All the Same ,Diminshing hometown pride and CAN DO Attitude seems to have taken a backseat to Greed of all kinds , Mistrust of anyone ,especially Goverment and Corporations , and poisoning jelousey of all types ,. Hope and youthful enthusiasm is becoming a thing of the past .. . , It Just seems Harder than Ever to be able to help Yourself and work hard and make something of yourself ,.. Hope this is Just My observation , and No One ELSE in This Country feels Like I do ,, then I can get Help , LOL ...Hang Tuf man , Looks like its gonna be a hard 15 yrs ....

Blaine,
Thanks for checking in.Yes we all miss you here, but I do understand. Its ok to take some time off.Sure understand the health thing,my brotherinlaw who's like a brother to me, has been going through alot.I have to say,its been bothering me greatly.Blaine,I have to say you are the one that got me interested in combines. And I'm glad you did.Your a good man,and I have always enjoyed your pictures.Would love to see the rest. You can email me if thats possible if you have a website for them.Take care my friend

Great pictures as always, like others said i think things are tough all over, i do hope your better half gets better. Great idea taking pictures of those old buildings, there are fewer every year around here also.

I was curious as too how many of those old sp12 case combines you ever came across? Take care and hope things get better for you and your family.

Blaine, good to hear you are doing ok. I understand having to take a break and the health issues. I have enjoyed 2, 1 week vacations this summer. 1 week at the beach at Seaside and 1 week at Joseph Oregon and Wallowa Lake with a side trip to the Palouse in Washington. How is your son doing? Both of my kids moved out this year and I am seriously considering moving to the cabin. I have downsized and only have the 454 hydro, the camping cart and '52 Chevy pickup left. Health has slowed me up considerably. I did get to run the 123SP a little this summer in some oats, I sewed 2 sacks for old times sake but 10 minutes in the 100 degree heat was all I could handle. It still needs a lot of work but it did thrash the 4 acres. It has a good home. I did get to the County Fair tractor pull and the Great Oregon Steamup in August for a couple hours each. I hope you continue to enjoy taking pictures and get rested up. I love the pictures of the country down there, My Mom and Grandparents grew up and lived at Cedar Vale Kansas. Great pictures as always. Good to hear you are looking forward to retirement. God Bless you and your family and hope things get better. We miss you....James
