1460 Height

Does anybody know the height of an IH 1460 with 24.5-32's on it? I'm thinking of going to look at one but before I drive the 400 miles to get there I want to make sure it will fit in the shed.

Also as I sit here and look at ads (nothing better to do at work today) I see a lot of 1460's that are listed with "No RT or CH" what are RT and CH.
Rear tires and cab heat?
Hopefully it makes sense when I see it

According to some old sales literature I have ...1460 "Transport & storage height" is 142" with standard tires (I think that's 23.1x26). The same book says a 1480 is 144" on 24.5X32 tires, so if your door is over 12 foot you should be OK.

RT is Rock Trap..CF could be corn head? I really don't know on the CF.

CH stands for chopper i belive. Which is no big deal I used to own a 1460 that didnt have a chopper and i never had a bit of trouble. I did custom work aswell and never had a customer complain. To be honest dad had a 1460 with a chopper and he had a fair amount of trouble. The one thing to really remember with a 1460 with no chopper is to be sure to drop the rear beater (in place of the chopper) floor down when picking corn. If you dont it tears the fins up on the beater and will sooner or later wear a whole in the beater floor and shoot cobs down at your seives like bullets! Belive me its not fun to replace the seive.

Hope this helps.

How you doin HPF I would say no rock trap and no cornhead which is usually SOP but it should have a grainhead and that is important if you see BU only that means base unit only now you have to go head shopping which might get a strange look from your wife. :-> CT

I have one with the 24.5-32, it will take all of 12 ft. door, you might have to let a little air out of the tires to get it in. As long as there is no grain tank ext. the cab is the tallest part of the machine. I think you need about 12 ft. width also w/o heads on it. I can look up precise dimensions in my book if you want. tj

Thanks for the information. I got home friday night and found the internet down, had some bad winds up here in mid-michigan over the weekend. With the heat wave and rain saturday there isn't a spot of snow covering my wheat any more.

I only have a 12ft door on my shed, I have found this to be a big nuisance when looking at newer machines. I can’t have the guy measure it because he’s a truck driver and he’s on the road until Jan 7th. I just wanted to get a rough idea of how tall the thing is before I get my hopes too high. Sounds like I'm going to need him to masure it anyway.
