Mankato Implement just got a 55 in on trade. I went to check it out because it has a quick tach feeder house and a 343 corn head.
Took some pictures in case anybody in the area is looking for something like this. It comes with the 343 head and 12 foot(?) bean head. Have heard that they are asking $2500 for the whole package. It has no tach so cant tell how many hours on it, by the way the sprockets look it doesn't have many. Has a chopper, but no drive belt. Not sure of the year, the serial number is 81059. What year did they change engines? Mine is a '69 and has a 303, this one has a different engine. The exhaust exits the top of the engine hood and air cleaner is mounted on the left side. Lots of small differences between the years. Also noticed the unloading auger is real short, was there an optional long auger?

if it's only got a 217 engine I would think 3rn in 150 bu/a corn would give it a load, pretty nice looking 55 considering they are 40 years old

That is really funny that you posted the picture. I just saw that combine as we drove by it this afternoon. My wife was driving and I was in back of the minivan with the kids, just saw it out of the corner of my eye; (combine detection). She was gracious enough to turn around for me and go look at it.

We were on our way to Iowa, and are going back to MSP tomorrow morning to fly out to Cincinatti. Don't know if anybody has heard of the Creation Museum, located in Kentucky about 10 minutes from the airport. It's a great ministry, and if you've never thought about Biblical truth and a different worldview, it will definitely get your attention.

We are taking a mini vacation there over the weekend. If anybody wants to check it out more go to www.answersingenesis.org.
