Gleaner K: How much is it worth?

I have found a Gleaner K with a bean head on it, its a 1976 model and belongs to the original owner. It seems to be in great shape, and has been shedded. We have got it running, engine runs strong and all other parts seem to run fine, except for the brakes, they don't work, anyone know how hard they are to fix and is it costly?. The man says its been parked for 10-15 yrs, and he wants $1500 for it? Is it worth fooling with?..........

Thanks

if it has been sitting for 15 years i would try and jew him down some sitting that long lots of things could go wrong then again it may be fine but try to go lower if you can

$1500 is a little high if it has been sitting for 10-15 years. Mine sits for one year and I have fixing to do before I can use it.

Is there anyway you can try to get it into a field and actually try harvesting some grain before you buy it? Then you'll find out in a hurry what's wrong with it. A lot can go wrong after sitting that long.

I paid $800 for mine with only a grain head and it had only been sitting for 8 months, I still had to put $600 into it once I got it home.

and I still don't have brakes or lights. :D

Hi I have a K with a 13 foot grain head and a 2 row wide and a 3 row narrow head I would let you have for $1600.00. I used mine for corn and rye last year. Thanks for your time. Marlin
