hydro trans problem

I have a yazoo kees mower and cant figure out why it will drive fine and stop.i believe the pumps are working .My question is can a pump work just fine and stop for no apparent reason? It is almost always on the same side but has switched to the other side a couple times. it dosent slow and stop,it just wont drive on that side

Check fluid level in both units, machine must be level ! Park on plywood, shim plywood level
if floor is off. My guess is low fluid, air bubble ?

make sure your linkage where it goes into the pump is tight on the swash plate control shaft.
if the wear plate on the rotator group pops out of the groove worn in the pump can do that also.
