honeywell generators

If you're talking about the 5500-7500w portable units, the units are made in china, the eng is a honda clone, this according to question asked at northshore power/walmart website.

I don't know what the "Big Bore" is, but I've got two Honeywells inverter generators. They've been great. Company (Northshore) was started by a guy from Briggs & Stratton and another guy from Generac. Generators are designed here in the USA, and put togehter in China. I don't think there is a AC, or DC-AC (inverter) generator on the market that does not use Chinese components, regardless of where it's bolted together.

Just spent several hours trying to get a Honeywell generator to start in the cold.
They use a Chinese engine that is so lean it will not start in the cold. Ended up putting a copper tube in so you can give it a shot of starter fluid.
Now it starts of 1 or 2 pulls. Once running it is fine. Will not restart even hot without full choke.
Local service shop will not work on Honeywell generators because engine parts are hard to get.
Good Luck.

I drilled small hole in the air cleaner housing so I could squirt ether in without pulling air cleaner out, engine runs great when you get it started, sure likes to snap back on the rope start too

that little speed control up top on the carb makes pulling the carb a challenge to drill out the main jet

storing it in a warm basement helps a bit also
