horizontal input shaft on transaxle

IS there a transaxle for a garden tractor that has horizontal input shaft? I need one i am building a new pedal tractor. any info is helpful.

Most of the older gear-drive Peerless/Tecumseh transaxles were this way. They are kind of heavy for a pedal tractor, though.

A multiple-sprocket and derailleur system like on a ten-speed bike should work.

You might look into the Shimano Nexus hub. Seven speeds, internal gear.

If I'm understand right,in effect you are looking for a "differential" version of a "live axle"? Or do you need selectable gears?
If the former, one of the most common, would be a Peerless 100/100A series(-----[]-----)used on millions of pre-transaxle mid&rear engine riders, along with a separate F/R or 2-4 speed gearbox.I've built 3 adult bicycle trikes with these. As to transaxles, many of the older Murray lawn tractors had horizontal input 3-4 spd TAs.

I need gears 3 or 4 speeds would be good.I have several pulling sleds and do pedal pulls. that way i can pull adults not have to add lots oh weight on the sled.
