Can anyone help me? I have an x-mark lazer z zero radius mower. It is 60" and has a Kohler 26 hp engine with EFI(elec. fuel inj.). It has been stopping during poeration and on sudden turns. Fuel tanks are full(2x5 gallon tanks).What could the problem be"? Thanx
 
stopping as in engine quits or forward motion quits.

I suggest if engine quits bad saftey switch or a wire is bare. Could also be low oil shutoff is bad. That is all I have to offer.
 
Thanx,rhouston. Yes it stops suddenly and by that I mean it shuts off the engine!.It then starts right up as if it was all o.k. and operates as usual.It does this kind of randomly ,say once an hour.Air or water in gas? I can't say I see any but the unit sits in an unheated barn mayb a week between startings.Gas is relatively fresh.Fuel filters could be the problem?
 
My first guess would be a safety switch is either going bad or defect in your wiring harness somewhere.I'd ck the seat switch first.Once tro.is found,let us know,Dude11
 
you could have a lot of differant things, It is EFI, everything is run by a compuotr. So, the fun begins.
First do a system diagnostic. Tunr the key off and on 3 times and then watch the M.I.L. and want the flash sequence.
If it is a 33, that is all OK on the computor system.
Next could be a fuel pump, check for a cracked fuel line. Check the seat switch also.
Check the coils and spark plug wire, there were some issues with boots that go on plug.
I will be honest with you on that engine, it is not an easy thing to diagnose due to all the electronics on it.

Thanx guys for all the suggestions. I'll be working on it and give follow-up ASAP. By the way,Jeff,it runs great then suddenly shuts off(the engine)
 
JT, When I turn the key off and on x 3 the light goes off onthe 2nd turn and nothing flashes at the end of turn 3. do you know what this could mean?
