cadet 1000 stator

1000 not charging. Found wire comming out from
casing over starter. Wire comes from little block with 2 screws, is this the stator wiring?
I removed 2 screws and block seems to be connected to nothing? On inside of engine sheet metal caling what should be there?

What you probably have found & removed is the solid state trigger module for ign coil,this connects to a Y or T conn outside of flywheel cover,1 wire goes to trigger module,1 wire to terminal on bottom of coil,other to ign kill lead in tractor wiring harness,Alt stator located UNDER FLYWHEEL & has a 2/3wire connector on end of leads by starter.
