Bolens 1250


A 1250 would have a tag on the tube frame just above or near the clutch pedal,the problem was that it was a stick on tag and many are missing and even the ones that are still on usually aren't readable,the other issue is that I haven't ever heard of or found a list to figure out the year by the serial number.Bolens only built 1250s in 1967,68,and 69 so if your sure it's a 1250,it would have been built in that time frame.
 
Your right! It's not there. When I was refurbing it I taped over any tags or numbers I found before I painted it. Thanks for your help. My neighbor was thinking the man he got it off of said it was a 69. So maybe he's right.
 
beau5278: I'm sure it's a 1250, I remember when my neighbor got it. You could still read the decal then. After I got done working the tractor over and painting it, I bought decals to replace ALL of them. Wish I knew how to drop you a picture. It looks and runs great, even put new tires on it.
 
One thing that would tell you for sure it's a 1250 would be the engine,the 1250s used an S12D Wisconsin,the 1253s used a Tecumseh,1254 and 1256 used a TRA12D Wisconsin and 1257 used a Tecumseh.
