carb problem

i have a TC3100 toro trimmer. the screw in the carb is frozen. i"ve used pb blaster for two days but its stll froze. any ideas how to free it up? bill

its the set screw that holds the float pin inside the carb. bill

Off the wall reply ... Is there a gunsmith in your area ? They have a unique device called a screw vice, almost looks like ben franklin printing press. Downforce helps hold bit tight,
big control wheel provides leverage for turning.

Failing that, replace the part.

trailer trash tractors, i'd replace the carb if i knew where to get one. all the sites i've been on shows their not made any more. bill

For such things I take a well fitting hex screwdriver bit and put it in the screw head and gently tap it a bit. Usually loosens them right up.
