i have a red 1950"s model farmette garden tractor that looks a lot like a wheelhorse garden tractor-it has a 7 horse kroller engine that runs great-electric and pull start-it is original-it has 3 forward gears and 1 reverse-i cannot find anything under the farmette name but have seen some models of wheelhorse almost identical-would love to hear from anyone with info on this tractor such as available parts, value & other owners-please email info

Farm-ette was made by the Tom Moore Tractor, Inc. of Mantua, OH. It sounds like you have a model 75 rider which came out in 1958. 12" rear tires and 8" front tires, three speeds forward and one reverse. It says that these tractors came with a 3.6 to 4hp engine. 4hp is the largest engine I see here so whether your engine is original or not I can't tell you. My book doesn't state what brand of motor this particular model had but earlier models were equiped with a Ultimotor. I'll see what else I can find later when I have a few moments. You're right though, it does look like a 50's era Wheelhorse RJ or Suburban.

hi jeff-thanks for the reply-i have searched high and low for info on this unit with no luck-i would appreciate any info you can find-i have it at the cottage so this weekend will take picture and post it-pat

The only other thing that I found was that the company also came out with a three wheeled tractor in 1954 that was front wheel drive. It had one speed forward at 3 mph and one reverse. This ad makes no mention of the others that I posted about before. I'm afraid that's the best I can do. I am, however, quite certain you have a model 75 based on your description. By all means, post a picture. I would love to see it.
