i have a case 444 with a 14 hp kohler, need a new piston, only have engine sn. the spec number is missing therefor no dealers can help me withot spec number can i get a spec no by going threw the sn. 9892539. spec no all i can read is k32. how else can i order the right part?

You have a K-321 engine in your Case. You don't need any spec number in order to obtain a new piston. All K-321's use the exact same piston. All that matters is whether the bore is standard or oversize and your existing piston should have that stamped into the top of it.

Your local NAPA dealer can provide you with a new piston, rings, gaskets and just about anything else you need. Complete K-321 rebuild kits are also available on e-Bay.

I don't know why you need just a piston but if the engine has lots of hours on it, then someone who knows what they are doing should be checking the bore for wear and to see how out-of-round it is.

First of all, it is doubtful that your Case 444 serial number is 9892539, it would be more likely that it is serial# 9692539, if that is the correct serial number, your engine is a K321A with a Spec# of 60258D.
