Hi - I have a cub super garden tractor Model 1872 and the adjustment bolt/screw for the tensioner spring that ultimately places tension on the pulley system that comes off the engine and drives the deck has got me baffled. What is happening, the pulley that is also connected to the tensioner spring is moving out and coming in contact with the big bracket that is used to hook up your plow or snow thrower. If I adjust the screw all way in the pulley works its way out and same goes if I adjust the screw all the way out. Its like it does not have any affect on the spring. The spring is a heavy-duty thing that looks like there is no cracks and I would be surprised if the spring lost some of its spring force due to its size. I have checked the belt to make sure I did not swap it with the deck belt accidentally and that is good. Sooner or later I am going to fry that pulley.
