Front blade connection question Bolens 750

I need a diagram or simple explanation as to how the bar which connects the blade on a Bolens 750 to the lift arm is positioned - I have tried all the ways I can think of on the one I have but it keeps snagging on the steering tie rod - the bar I have is about 2ft long has a slot at one end (which apparently goes on the pin on the blade) and two holes at the other end which somehow connect to the lift arm - however I just dont seem to be able to work out how it goes!

Thank you,

Hi again guy
This is a common problem, a wrong rod, ie tiller,
snowblower etc..also these are often bent from
use.On my 800 I bought some 3/8 rod,and little bending on the anvil until it cleared, then
for the blade end, rather than a slot (for snow
plowing only was the slot) I drilled four holes
allowing me to adjust the height and allows me to
control the "down pressure" with the handle(gravel drive) and more control for dirt work.

Most of the attachments for the tube-frame Bolens tractors used the same lift bar.

The slotted end of the bar gets attached to the blade.

The arc of the bar should be at the top.

The hole on the opposite end attaches to the pin on the lift arm ABOVE the footrest. ....I think you will use the hole closest to the end of the bar. (If too long, use the other hole.)

[When mounting a tiller, the bar attaches BELOW the footrest. ...Arc goes DOWN. ...Slotted end mounts to tiller.]
