bypassing safety switches

I have 2001 sears 21 hp lawn tractor that has umpteen safety switches. Does anyone know ow to bypass the safety switches so I can use a start- run -off switch. I have no mower and I want to use it to pull a wagon to haul trash. Thanks Henry

Basicly, there are two circuts, a mag kill [ coil current cut off switch for battery / coil ignition ] and a Starter Relay switch.

Both could be served by push buttons.

I'd leave the seat cut out in place, if you fall, or get knocked off, the engine cuts out.

Otherwize, you have to get up off the ground
and chase a running tractor, not always an easy thing to do.

To bypass all the safety switches EXCEPT for the SEAT. You run a wire from the white ground wire terminal on the key switch strait to the white ground terminal on the solenoid. You dont have to disconnect anything just splice the wire to the white ground wires at each location.

I done this on a older sears mower and it worked however i just temporaly hooked the wire up this way to make sure it would work before splicing. So far so good for the past 5 years

Henry I was wrong about the bucket of worms. Once I answered a question and told the fellow to by pass the switch AND cautioned him to do it only temporary. I thought some some of the folks was going to turn me in to OSHA, a law firm, and call the high Sheriff. I'll never do that again and that is the reason I didn't tell you how. I mean I was really shamed.

Thats ok, I knew what you meant but since I messed up the switch and had various other problems, I bought a new lawnmower and am turning this into a gofor rod. Henry
