MTD Transmission

Does anyone know of a source for used MTD or Troybilt parts? I need a transmission, part number 618-0307D or 918-0551A.

The 918-0551A is the later model replacement part number. If you do a google search on that part number you will get to a site that sells parts for them with a MTD Cub Cadet label on them.

I believe that was a Peerless/Tecumseh transaxle but don't count on that.

MTD used that single-speed transaxle on a few bajillion or so riding mowers. There ought to be a few around if you have a mower salvage yard.

Where are you located at? I have three or four of those single speed transes in dead mowers. I am in SouthWest Missouri.
