JD Gt235 transmission noise?

Disabled neighbor asked me to look at his Gt235 that his wife uses.It sounds like it has a slight pulley growl under the main belt drive pulley and feels like it maybe internal.The tractor itself moves fine under load forward or reverse -just that whirling noise you hear.
Changed the rearend and hydro fluid made no difference.Should we worry about it or just put up with the noise?
I beleive it is a K-71 Transmission

I don't know anything about that model. However, I had similar sounds with my 111 and turned out to be bearings in an idler pulley. It ran a long time this way, and then the pulley fell apart. Hope this helps.

as the other reply said its most likly 1 of the tension iblers for the transmission belt
There are 3 1 flat an 2 v idlers

Transaxles tn 235s are pretty tough
