blown engine Kawasaki17hp watercooled FD590V

I am looking to repower my promaster with a vangaurd engine or simmilar any suggestions what engine I should use for this repower

What's wrong with the old engine? I just rebuilt a FD501V... They are more or less the same.

Anyhow, when re-powering pay close attention to...

* Mounting Holes.
* Torque Output.
* Rated load and no load RPM.
* Horsepower.

I'd stay with a v-twin design... here are the specs for your FD590V:

make sure ur blown kawasaki doesant just have a broken camshaft gear
Early ones had a plastic gear cam
New ones are steel
Piece of cake to repair

Also i would stay with the Kawasaki
