I was give that tractor this weekend from a guy i work with. His son was going to pull with it and lost interest in it so he asked me if I wanted it. I don't know much about them except from a post on this board that the 130 were only made in '65. I was wondering where to find parts and what kind of hydro oil is used in it.

Any info would be great

thanks

The 130 was only made for the one year. In truth, it was actually a Colt tractor with Case colours and decals applied because Case bought Colt the previous year.

These tractors use MOTOR OIL, not hydraulic oil or any other kind of oil. Shell's Rotella T 20W50 or 15W40 are both good choices. Remove the drain plug from the trans-axle because it serves as the hydraulic reservoir.

Look at the oil that comes out. If you see water come out or the oil is milky, then you will likely have to remove the top cover of the trans-axle and see if the gasket is damaged. Once the oil is out, remove the steel hydraulic line that goes to the pump. Then remove the large fitting that goes into the trans-axle carefully because this has a long filter screen attached to it. Those fittings can be a bear to remove sometimes but they do come out.

Use the link below and buy yourself an Operator's Manual and Parts Manual from Ed. Those two items will make your life a whole lot easier.

Parts are not a problem. New parts can be sourced through Ed but many items can be bought from other places because they are off-the-shelf items. Used parts can be had from Joe's Outdoor Power in Michigan or off of e-Bay.

You have a little treasure there that is one tough tractor. It is collectable and therefore it deserves your respect for having given over forty-years of service.

With out a doubt this little tractor has my respect. It's an awesome tractor. I plan on doing a compleat resto on it and using it at some of the local fairs in CT to pull with. Over the past couple of days I've been tinkering with it. Changing the engine oil, new plug, points, got the head lights working and tightened up the front end so the wheels would stop wobbling. I think I've had more fun taking my kid for rides on it.
