Diesel in a Bolens 1050

Any reason why not? It needs a new motor, but I've never heard of anyone putting in one of those Hatz 1 cyl Diesel engines. It seems like a great idea, but if it was, someone else would have thought of it years ago. Any ideas or comments? Anyone know how it would start up in winter ( upstate NY) for snowblower use? Mike

Hi
The 1050 bolens is a great tractor for any
re-power. Since the clutch, drive shaft & rear end are all seprate from the engine except for the drive belt. So... If you can bolt it up, fit the drive pullys to the engine and PTO, re-measure the belts, your home free, enjoy your 1050. Ping me if I can be of specific help.

I have a 2 cylinder Hatz I'm going to put in a Massey Ferguson 1650.A small diesel in my opinion would probably work better in a Hydro where it could run a decent RPM all the time. Also with a driveshft directly from the engine to the hydro with no clutch involved it'd be easier to mount up.
