HI Jim,I am a small engine repair student in Prince Albert ,Saskatchewan,Canada and working on a early 80's roper 16 h.p. tractor. All the info I have is it is a 16 T garden tractor, with a model 6328 cr transmission,no manufacturers name for tranny, which is a bad thing for I am trying to fix it. I have absolutely no service manuals or anything on it,if possible could you send me info on transmissions for early 80's 16T Roper tractors, anything, service manual type info,r&r,specs, etc. or even just type of tranny, manufacterer for this model.
I cannot believe that a training facility in this day and time would not have such info on a school owned tractor, especially after owning since new and using strickly for training.
Can you help me,
Larry

I am writing concerning my Roper 18 h.p. Model GTK181AR/GTK181AT. It has a P.T.O switch that engages the mower. When flipping the switch, nothing works. No noises, no clicks, no nothing.
I am wondering if it could be a bad switch, or a bad clutch, or could it be a safety switch? I am also wondering if a trouple shooting guide for this tractor exists? A big thank you to any one who can help me! It's a late 80's model. Also, where can I order parts? Thanks!

I have an old Roper I'm working on as well. The data plate has an address in Orangeburg, SC, if anyone is interested in that. As far as I can determine it shares a lot of parts with Sear and AYP tractors, probably branded by the same manufacturer.
