Anyone have a wiring diagram for the 71 SS12? The one listed on sears.com is not right, it does not show a solenoid. The one on searstractor.com is pretty but also does not show a solenoid.

If you can scan and email ( princess_and_castle@yahoo.com ) I would be forever grateful.
Thank you.

Bob Peace said: (quoted from post at 02:39:15 03/01/08) You can find all wiring diagrams for Sears tractors at http://sears.pammar.net/wiring.html. You will need the tractor model number to look it up. A lot of the older Sears tractors used a high amperage starter key switch instead of a starter solenoid. I ran into this problem on my tractor and added a solenoid and used a standard newer model low amperage key starter switch. If your ignition switch is bad, there is a used one on eBay for sale.

Somebody added a solenoid to mine way back when. The wiring diagram for my model tractor doesn't show one, but there is one wired in.
So, my tractor is running finally - new motor (rod, piston, valves, ect), new solenoid, new ignition switch, new headlight switch, new ammeter (leftover OEM sears), new voltage regulator, new wiring, new battery and much more. :)
