What kind of oil does craftsman tranny need?

I have a craftsman rider thats about 3yrs old and has a leaking hydrostatic transmission. Its leaking out of the axle seal so I want to fix it but I dont know what type of oil or how much oil to put into it when I fix it.

Here is the numbers for the tractor.
tractor model # 917.270821
trabsaxle # 319-650

You will find most likely that there is no easy way to fill your hydro. These new LIGHT DUTY hydro are a "throw away unit". When you have problems with it you replace it. There is a vent tube, no way to check the oil. Most use a 20W-50 motor oil BUT these unit ARE NOT built to be serviced or easily repaired.

I found out your right the hard way kent, I want to fix it and trade it in on a older tractor. I would like a jd 110 or 112 hydro. Looking in the owners manual there in a part called a cap/vent plug so I guess Ill fill it there. Im not sure how hard the seal is to change.
