Its that time of year again !! Got the tractor ( LX172) out of hibernation, and it won't start. It wouldn't even turn over. Had the starter checked, no problem, and replaced the battery. It turned over and started, for about 3 seconds and then died. Now won't turn over. Have charged the new battery, but nothing. Just a 'click' noise when I turn the key.
I have no mechanical background, so does anyone have any ideas ?

Ok, first of all if it does not have a starter relay kit installed, do so.Just ask any Deere dealer for a relay kit for your LX172 they will know what u want.10mm and 12mm wrench is all u need to install. Also make sure that the choke is fully closing,if not it will not start and run.

Sounds like a solenoid switch to me. Had to replace mine also a couple weeks ago.
