I'm working on a John Deere Garden Tractor. I believe the stickers say LX176. It's not too old, but I was asked to see if I could get it running. I cleaned the carb and it was sludged up. It starts and runs now, but only on full choke. Maybe that is how it always ran, but I'd like to try and adjust. Anyone got advice on Mikuni carb setting? There is some type of adjustment on the front of this carb, but it can only move from 3 to 12 o'clock (has some type of stop on the adjustment screw). If I go off full choke, it wants to chug every 3-5 seconds. Thanks in advance!

There is likely still some goo in the carburetor, plugging a vital passage.
