Is a starter off of a LX172 interchangeable with a starter off of a LX188?

I have a couple LX176machines for sale if that would help,both just need little tlc to get going again,one just bottom seal leaks.

According to JD Parts catalog, no.

LX172 and LX176 share the same starter AM104559 is JD Part #

LX178 and LX188 share the same starter AM105575 is JD Part #

LX186 uses a different starter AM108615 is JD Part #

AM131296 is for the LX173
