TO FIND HORSE POWER: MULTIPLY THE AREA OF THE CYL. BY THE LENGHT OF STROKE IN INCHES AND THE PRODUCT BY THE NUMBER OF REVOLUTIONS PER MINUTE THEN DIVIDE BY THE CONSTANT 10000 FOR 2 STROKE OR 13400 FOR 4 CYCLE. EXAMPLE:4"BORE 4"STROKE 1000 REVS. PER. MIN. CONSTANT 13400. THE 4"BORE IS, 12.56 AREA x 4 =50.24 x 1000 = 50240 DIVIDE BY 13400 = 3 3/4 HP FOR ONE CYLINDER.

Should be. Check the yellow pages for engine service establishments and/or parts outlets. Don't know if NAPA would carry those or not. There are also businesses that do mail-order trade on small engines. Two that come to mind are Maple Grove Dist. Co. in Galveston, Indiana and Power Lawnmower Parts in Rochester NY.

I have a Winsconsin-Robin engine that I am trying to make a pulling lawnmower tractor. It has a model number of EW44Y and need information about the specification, namely horsepower and cubic inch displacement. If anyone can help me, would appreciate it.

Thanks, Pete Braker

I'm working on a Clinton model 2973690 vertical shaft engine. Since I have already started to take the engine apart,I need some information about timing (there weren't any marks on the crankshaft and crankgear to line it up to get the right timing). It would be helpful to get a repair manual but we need to know where to get it.
