I recently purchased a used Haban Model 24579 Snow Thrower that is missing some parts. Can anyone tell me who supplies parts for these units?

I'm hoping to mount it onto my L110 John Deere garden tractor, I know some modifications will be required.

Thanks

Hi Therre, I just finished mounting your exact same model on my 2 yr old craftsman LT1000. A bit of hole drilling in the mower frame but thase habans seem to fit just right to a std tractor. I am shopping for belts as we speak. Try these part nimbers for the two belts at Sears.com(I'm sure you can find them cheaper elswhere when you find out the size. short belt....11483, and long belt...19893. If you find out the length of the longer belt let me know. the smaller belt is 5/8 x 42". Good luck!

Haban is long outta business,Various patents were sold to other mfgs, however they do not support former Haban equiptment. Now the good news,Haban made the snowblower attachments for just about every garden tractor mfg out there and used a "basic" design for most, with small variations for mounting etc. There are two parts to a Haban, the drive/lift unit, which mounts to the tractor, and the Auger/blower Unit in 36",42" etc.
Best bet is junk pile at dealers or "Lawnmower" junkyards. What specific parts do you need?I can access some "parts diagrams" by Sears No which would "show the basics".If unavailable,(most)Haban parts are either"off the shelf" or fairly ez to fabricate as Joe Haban was a"basics"engineer, not a techy geek.

Thanks for the info.

The good part is I got the original Owners Manual along with the thrower, which has never been used.
I'm missing the belts, pulleys, clutch assembly and various other little parts. All the "big" pieces are there.
If I was "handy" in the shop yes I could fabricate everything I need but unfortunatley I'm not and was hoping to find the original parts.

I am looking for a copy of a Sears snow thrower (40") model 842-260072 manual. Do you have same? A lot of what you are looking for is available from Sears. Go to the Sears web site, parts, enter the model number, it will give the mounting assembly diagram & parts list, and the auger asembly and parts diagram. Good luck.

I had the manual along with the snowthrower. Too bad you didn't contact me sooner I could have made you a copy. I've now sold the snowthrower and the manual went along with it.

You best bet would prolly be to try to find a junker for parts. The basic pulley/engagement set-up is virtually the same on all xcept difference between units to be driven from verticle vs horizontal drive from tractor.Clutch was simply a spring loaded belt tightener/idler pulley on most.
