I need to order some parts, but I don't know what the serial number of the tractor is, or where to find it. It is an 18 hp, 42 in deck, bought in 1988 - 89 Any help would be appreciated. Thanx, Irv - from Howell Mich.

Check to see if you have any relays, and if they are working. Had one rusted up a few weeks ago. It sounds like the syptoms.

Raise the seat and look on fender where battery is. Knowing how some of these people are, it may be inside the battery case housing..Sometimes where you least expect them to be. I was surprised the other day when I found some new cars have the battery's under back seat !!!!!

Irv, Have you looked on the tractor for the serial number? Unless someone removed the tag the SN will be located on the tractor behind the seat or on the side. there should also be a tag located on the deck for mower info.
