I have a 1974 Simplicity 738 Broadmoor that I bought new. It has a 36" mower and a 30" snowblower with chains. I just bought a new one and was wondering what this is worth. Everything works and is in not too bad of shape.Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob,

I just bought a 738 with a blown engine for $150, then got replacement engine via ebay.

Location has a lot to do with price... All the running broadmoors for sale were many hours away from Ann Arbor, MI.

Search ebay to see what prices are being asked, and register w/ ebay to see what people are actually paying.

I'll take a gearbox over a hydro any day... :)

TD

Bob,
I also have a 738, 1974, I was wondering if you would be interested in selling the snowblower attachement only? how well did it work with such a small 8hp?

Bob, If you part it out you might get more money for it. Otherwise you can try ebay. Depending on your location you might get anywhere from $100-$300 for it. I had a 738 I was finally able to sell last month for $150. Really good shape with a mower deck. Broadmoors and Yeomans just don't move that well.

I just got a 738. It is in pretty good shape, but not in full operation condition. It is missing a battery. It also does not start. I don't know if it is the starter or what? When i turn the key the lights work but it doesn't do anything else. I would appreciate it if someone could give me some advice on what to chack on how. Or any suggestyions on what to do or replace to get it running.

i own a 738 also and you might want to check the coil or all of the wiring that leads up to it.
