Case 222 hyd oil

Ops manual says 5w20 winter and 20w40 summer. With the advancements in oil can i safely run a 5w40 all year?

Not trying to start an argument; just looking for best oil to use year round

I would run 10W40 or 10W30, year around without a worry.

I was told by a very good Case mechanic to use 15w-40 so that's what I use in all of mine with no issues.

15w40 is what is recommended and i run in my swather as hydraulic fluid.wasnt sure about the occasional winter use of that grade in the 222. Thanks for your advice

I've had a bunch of Case GTs over the years. Those with really good pumps got 15w40, those with somewhat worn but usable pumps got 20w50. My next one will be 15w40 also.
