we got it up and running and it has turned out to be a four beer flat rate job doing so It runs great , new key switch and connector a elquicko carb cleaning a readjustment on the points and brake and it runs stops and charges . still need to change hy tran and filter refine the speed control lever to set in the N gate and PUT a new seat on it . Remove the Mule drive and put the blade and chains on . The Sherman and Williams overhaul will come later. Yes i am a happy camper . And now i can pull the steering box off the other 1250 that i had that needed a ton of work and rebuild that at my leisure then make the swap . Ok so here is a question for the brain trust should i keep it yellow and white or do a 2150 rad and cream?????? or is this one of them WHAT EVER FLOATS YOUR BOAT DEAL'S

My opinion is that it is your tractor! Do as you see fit. I personally like the original colors. I have a Cub Cadet 70 that I originally painted red/white, used it many years. Finally had to do some engine work, and while it was out, I repainted original yellow/white.

Glad you got your Cubbie running. I have a 982 IH painted 2150 red, and I've done paint jobs on 3 others, all factory yellow & white. OUR very first Cubbie, a 1963 Original had a terrible paint job from the factory, when it was traded for a new model 70 in 1965 first thing the dealer did was repaint that original red & white. I saw it sitting outside under an awning in front of the dealer's showroom for close to a month, then it disappeared. Never saw or heard anything about it till about 20 years ago. DAD was playing cards with a group of old friends and his partner in Euchre mentioned having to mow that afternoon too, turns out he bought our old repainted Cubbie.
We used to run US Route 6 from home to the Quad-Cities, Moline, Rock Island, Davenport & Bettendorf, and right west of the Interstate 80 overpass on Rt 6 was a really nice farm, story I heard was the owner wasn't a farmer, but an attorney for Deere & Co. About 1964 he bought a Cub Cadet Original and painted just the HOOD green, he poured a concrete pad by the corner of his house and his green & yellow Cub Cadet sat out for ALL to see till about the early 1970's. When he finally bought a Deere mower he hid it inside a barn.
