One of the freewheeling valves on top of the transmission is stuck down. If I unscrew it will a few internal parts come flying out? What is the best way to unstick the valve? Are the valves available new?

Where is the best place to get service manuals, owner's manuals and parts manuals? I don't want a PDF. I need to trace the starting circuits as it won't crank.

Simply remove the valve, nothing will escape!

You can push the ball at the lower end ''up'', moving the activating pin upward, and apply penetrating oil and repeat 'til it loosens up.

There's a tiny 0-ring that seals the pin, which may leak from the rusted, rough pin moving past it.

The valve assembly is crimped together, and not intended to be disassembled and serviced, but it cam be taken apart to replace the o-ring and spot welded together.

There's an ebay seller or two that repair them, you can exchange yours or send it to them for a re-seal, or do it yourself.

Check out ebay Auction #320670405175.

New ones can be bought on ebay, as well, starting at about $70, MUCH less than from DEERE.

As to manuals, if you want the large, clear fold-out diagrams DEERE original manuals are the only way to go.

Look on ebay for reasonably priced used ones or go to the link below and order from Deere Techpubs.

Starting circuit diagram.

Where are the best places to buy service/parts/owners manuals that are reasonably priced for this tractor? Are there some that should be avoided? I couldn't find any here on YT.

Thanks for the wiring diagram. I was able to trace the circuit and down by the starter I found a relay that was hanging loose and
upside down. The side panels had been removed years ago by a previous owner so the relay was not protected from the weather. It is probably full of water. I bypassed
the relay with a jumper wire and started the tractor. I will get a new relay later. I do have the side covers to put back on.
