Cub cadet xt2 throttle cable Kohler twin freezing/sticki

The throttle has been difficult to move at start up recently, and now stuck so badly the cable pulled out of handle attachment point. Where the cable passes the valve cover it touches the valve cover. ???Is there a plastic tube the cable runs through that could be melting during operation, and cooling down on shutdown on shutdown seizing the cable??? It's a 2015 xt2 Kohler 7000 twin. Thanks

Does your mower sit in the weather? Or under a tarp? I see lots of cables freeze up because of rust on the inner wire. Tarps are murder
because any moisture that finds it way under just stays there and causes problems.

How close does it come to the muffler? On some Kohlers the throttle quadrant where the cable attaches is just above the muffler, so they
can get quite hot.

Yes, some cables do have a plastic liner. Some do not. I don't know which version your cub cadet has.

It sure sounds like you need a new cable.

If it is a 2015, at least you got about seven years use out of the first one.
