I'd like a narrow riding mower with a left side discharge chute, so I'm thinking Case. I have some tight spots to mow on a down slope and a left chute would work nicely.
What is the narrowest Case riding mower? Does the model 220 have a 36 inch deck or smaller?

I think the 40 was the smallest one. But, a 42 rear discharge deck is actually narrower. I Have one of those that was used on a 224 and I think it will fit a 220. Probably too heavy and far to ship though.

The rear discharge is really nice to use as it can trim equally close on both sides. And, if you use a yard sweeper the narrow discharge is perfect. Not so good if you don't mow often and it doesn't spread the clippings like a side outlet.

You might also look into older Simplicity riders they have left hand discharge I have a couple of 42" decks and they are smaller than the Case deck not sure how small they made them Allis Chalmers were the same so they are a possibility

I wouldn't call a Case narrow, I have three, used them for 30 years. Most decks are 44 inch cut. They do have others. IOs
your tractor hydraulic drive ? Use just a forward/reverse lever, on left of steering wheel.?
