Murray Push Mower

I have a murray push mower that i am selling, it has a briggs & stratton motor on it, the carb was bad on it so i found the right one on amazon and
put it on, mower ran great but the primer bulb wouldn't work, i put a new rubber piece on the primer, still wouldn't work, so i sent that carb back
and ordered another one which was a different brand, i put it on this evening and the primer still won't work, the mower will still start but if it
sits a week or so you have to pull on it 10+ times before it starts. I honestly have no clue what to do now, i asked a small engine shop and they
didn't know why the primer will not work, anyone on here have any ideas???

Once it starts does it run long enough to finish the mowing job??

Once started, if you turn it off is the fuel in the primer bulb and able to pump fuel as it should?

Once it starts it does great, i'll have to see if fuel is in it when i cut it off and try to pump it

Is the primer in the end of the air cleaner next to the sparkplug?

If so, you are probably losing your primer air through the gasket between the carburetor and the air cleaner. Meaning the air leaks out there rather than pushing the fuel up the nozzle in the carburetor. Sometimes stacking two gaskets help.

My brother had a box store mower, don't remember
what kind. He had it a couple years.
I was gonna help him and mow his lawn.
Mower wouldn't start, I saw a can of starting
fluid by where he kept the mower.
Gave it a shot and it started right up and ran good.
Mowed the yard and shut it off and restarted it, no problem.
I asked him and he said it's been like that since new.
I pulled carb apart to clean and rebuild. when I pulled
the primer bulb off there were no holes drilled behind it.
I put a new carb on it, no problems after that.
