Running rich?

Since my Cub Cadet 2542 lawn tractor is back from the dealers shop it seems to be burning a lot of gas. The engine is a Kohler V twin 20hp.
I pulled the spark plugs & they were black with carbon.
Is there a fuel adjustment on that carburetor other than the idle?

The high speed jet is probably inside the carburetor and non adjustable. First check for the choke not being completely open. Look to see if gasoline is puddling in the carburetor throat and if so,then find out if the float level is too high or the needle and seat are not closing and the float level is too high in the carburetor.

Check for dirty air filter, or oil soaked.

What did the dealer work on?

Oil leak, crankshaft seal.

Dealer may have had to remove the engine or engine components. The choke cable may not have been put back in the correct location on the carburetor. Check choke is fully open when choke is in off position.

Thanks to all. The air cleaner is clean.
I will check if the choke is fully open.
