briggs 4hp i/c leaking oil

I have a garden way sickle bar mower with 4hp Briggs. there is a tube out the bottom of the engine leading out the back to drain the oil. It has started to leak. I am
guessing this tube is held in with an oring or something. The whole tube wiggles right to left. I can't find anything on this set up. If anyone else has had this
problem I would be happy to hear from them. I do not want to risk taking it apart until I know it can be fixed. Thanks all.

I can't help you, other than to suggest going to the official Briggs website with the engine nameplate data at hand, you should be able to find a parts breakdown so you at least know what's in there, along with pat numbers (IF it's repairable and doesn't have to be replaced as an assembly.)

I have never seen a remote drain hose installed on an engine that small that I was sure came out of the Briggs and Stratton factory. I would think it was added to the engine when it was installed by the OEM on your mower. See if its in the jari mower parts book.

I will have to look. It is an early gardenway Trailblazer model. It definitely was set up from the factory that way. MTD has online manuals but not for the engine. Briggs has diagrams for 114982-0180-01 but none show that tube. There is a code after than and looks like 85-1206 that probably indicates the special drain, but cant find it listed online. I will check Jari. Thanks.
