Simplicity 7790 Diesel questions

Wife's cousin has her late father's 7790 that's been sitting in a shed for ~5 years. Wants to sell it so I said I'd try to get it running. No manuals. Before I eff anything up, is there anything special to check before I try to crank it over?

I plan on some fresh fuel and oil. Also plan on checking the hydro fluid.

Any other tips or comments welcome too.

Hi I had one about a year ago but sold it you need a good strong battery and the throttle has to be full open for starting once its running bring the throttle back to just under half to warm up when warm it will idle nice lots of torque noise and diesel smoke/smell. There is a fair amount of information and manual available on the net for them

Forgot to say its aq good idea to remove the cooling tins and clean the cooling fins fairly easy to do, the fins do get cloged with grease/oil and grass clippings

Thanks! I was planning on just using jumper cables from my truck to crank it. They are good heavy ones. Think that will work, or should I plan on getting a battery.

The links I found via Google for a manual were broken. Do you know of a link that works?

Good point. Probably a mouse nest or three in things too. Just hope no chewed up wiring or hoses. Hopefully the fuel tank is easy to drain and does not have algae or other crap growing in it.

(reply to post at 05:42:23 07/19/18) [The tank should drain by disconnecting the hose going the lift pump there is a finger screen in the tank outlet if it original.

Thanks a million to MNGB for the info he made available to me!!!!

Got it running pretty easily. Found a guy that wanted it in as-is condition and he paid a reasonable price. Cousin is thrilled to have it sold and I'm happy it worked out and the buyer seemed pleased too. A win for all.

Hi Oliver 500, your welcome I'm glad to hear it worked out good for you and am happy I was able to help a bit
