I have a JD L111. Certainly not one of their best efforts. Front end is sloppy as heck. Is there a bushing available for the spindle housing to tighten things up?

There is a bushing for the bolt that goes through the frame bracket
and the front axle pivots on. Otherwise you'd need to have the hole
drilled out and a bushing fabricated.

Best bet would be to find good used replacement parts in a tractor
which the previous owner blew out the transaxle or ran the engine
without oil.

Did that with my big Husqvarna. Original is a big plastic bushing. Will wear all sloppy. The replacement bronze bushing from a bearings supply store was the perfect length and outside diameter. The center needed to be drilled to the next bolt size up. I also cross drilled the bolt, installed a zirk fitting, and now I grease it twice a season. Beauty!! Make sure you use a brand new lock nut on the bolt!
