Vintage Lawn Boy Parts?

Is there a good source for parts for a vintage Lawn Boy push mower? (Model 5247, serial number says 1979 model.)
I'm looking for a fuel shutoff, primer bulb and maybe an ignition module. (Doesn't like to start when hot, but starts on the first pull when cold.)
There's a guy on YouTube and eBay named "Charlie Mack" who restores them, but I can't tell if he sells parts, too. (I'm not an eBay person, so I don't have a way to contact him.)
Is there a group, similar to YT, for Lawn Boy folks?

If you have a Toro dealer in your area, check with them. Toro ended up with Lawn Boy. And the people who had them love them, I never have had
problems getting parts. (Not cheap, though.)

Lawnboys have a large following......there are always scads of parts (new and used) on e-bay.
I have several; great machines. The ignition modules do seem to fail fairly regularly.
I've never had one that worked intermittently......they always work or don't work.
I bought a couple of the $19.95 China made ones last year and I installed one this spring....so far, so good.

Thanks, Brian. I've done some checking for parts online, and I've had pretty good luck tracking down what I need.

From what I've read so far, it sounds like the "starts good cold, but won't re-start when hot" problem is often ignition module-related. I'll try to check for spark the next time it happens.

The 5247 came with four different engines in 1979 and four different deck groups. Some had the fuel tank mounted to the engine with a primer bulb on top of the shroud. While others had a square type pedestal mounted fuel tank behind the engine.

Part Numbers..

Ignition Coil = Lawnboy 100-2949

Primer = Lawn Boy 610482

Fuel Shut off Valve = Lawn Boy 677052 (for the pedestal mounted tank).

The engine types were F100, F140, F140E and the F200.

I will need to look for I have a box full of good used ignition coils somewhere that I have taken off of non repairable F engines over the years. If I can find them I would be glad to ship you one free if you want. I know that an OEM one runs around $50+..

I have three old Silver Series Lawn Boys that I still use today. I will grab every Silver or Gold Series that has a Tecumseh or Dura Force engine I can get my hands on.. Tell people that I would spend $1000 keeping and old off set wheel Lawn Boy running before I would buy anything that the market has to offer these days.. When I heard that Toro bought Lawn Boy I knew that would be the end of the best mowers ever made. So I started collecting.. Planning this winter to scrounge enough parts to build a couple of "new" mowers. Power them with Kawasaki FJ180V engines and rolling on steel wheels with ball bearings like I have added to the three I still use.

Thanks, Mule Meat. My 5247 has the fuel tank mounted to the engine, with the primer bulb on top of the shroud. (Serial No. 9262909.)
I also found a service manual online, which will be a big help.

Why are you calling things without "Lawnboy"engines Lawnboys? Mine are Lawnboys except the
one Ironhorse...........PS,The "M" series were fecal matter and hastened the end.

That is funny right there..

Lawn Boy never did build their own engines in their own factories. Outboard Marine Corporation built them including your Brick Top..

Only one company that I know of has ever manufactured both the mower and engine.. That is Honda.
