I have acquired a Simplicity 725 that is complete but has been sitting outside for some time. Everything seems to be free (engine, mower
deck, trans, etc.). I need to replace the points and condenser and I'd like to add an external coil. I am having issues finding these items.
I know the old coil was under the flywheel, I would like to replace it. I do not have a compression gauge but when I turn the motor over it
does not seem to have compression (my finger blocking plug hole) as others. I wonder if just replacing it would be best, is there an engine
that might bolt into place?
