Hi I have a 2 yr old Poulan Pro . Yesterday I notice
it's making a screetch when you move from
forward to neutral too fast. And it still wants to
creep forward slowly on neutral. Is there an
adjustment for that? Someone in the know?

The screech is probably not something you can do anything about. I am thinking its a relief valve or a check valve opening inside the transmission. When you quickly change direction, all of a sudden you are telling the oil to go in the opposite direction and the pressure spikes quickly and the oil has to go somewhere.

I am thinking if its a handle hydro, down on the seat, there is an adjustment bolt on the right hand side at the bottom of the handle that adjusts the angle of the handle in relation to the lower part so it lays/lies (whichever) in the neutral notch and the machine does not creep.
To adjust this, you have to jack the back end up so the wheels can turn and have a helper in the seat-to make the seat switch so it will drive the wheels-and stay clear of the turning wheel while adjusting the lever. LOTS OF SAFETY RISK, SO IF YOU DO THIS BE CAREFUL!

If its a foot hydro control, there is usually a spring loaded quadrant on the side of the transmission that must be adjusted. Without looking at yours, I don't know what to tell you. Again: lOTS OF SAFETY RISK if you want to adjust it.
